Scrabble I For Word Lovers is the second step in the Scrabble For Word Lovers suite. Scrabble I builds on Scrabble O, so, if you need a refresher, please visit the Scrabble O Introduction page.
Scrabble I goes beyond Scrabble O in just these two ways:
1. Extended board with 3 extra rows on each side.
2. Nice 300-tile letter distribution with a fresh, random scoop of 100 tiles for each game.
These two modifications launch Scrabble into a new orbit.
The three extra rows all around burst the Scrabble board straitjacket. Your main word must still connect to the classic board, but now you can stretch out; now you have blessed breathing room for the words you find in your rack.
A much more natural letter distribution means even bigger, healthier words on your Scrabble board and the random scoop makes every Scrabble game fresh and different, maybe even surprising.
For more detail and discussion, please visit the Scrabble I rules page, but this handy Scrabble I on a Slip about says it all:

I hope you'll scroll back up taking a look at the "tile oddities" which arise from the random scoop, such as a game with 3J.
Did you see the difference with your own Scrabble boards in regards to bigger, more respectable words? If not, read on...
Let's see how those five games stack up against "regular" Scrabble played at the very, very highest level; specifically, the five-game championship play-off at the 2015 National Scrabble Tournament. (You can view the games here: Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Game 4 Game 5.)
Here are all 199 words on the five Championship Play-off boards, and the 104 words on the five Scrabble I boards above. (Words in red would be disallowed in Scrabble For Word Lovers, which uses a regular dictionary.)

I retain the rights to these additions, adjustments, and modifications giving rise to Scrabble I, singly or in combination, insofar as I may be allowed.
Having said that, I will give Scrabble I to Hasbro for free if that's what it takes to make the Scrabble world safe again for word lovers. Anyone out there with the connections to talk to them?
