Short ID: FC4.
Title: Courante.
Composer: Francois Campion.
Source: Nouvelles decouvertes sur la Guitarre.
           Page 6.
Date: 1705.
Facsimile: Minkoff (1977), page 20.

Tuning: Bb D G C F (tuning 1).
Time sig: 3/2.

Fixes, modifications (M=measure r=rhythm s=string):
M11r8 microfilm shows sloppy hand-written correction not shown in Minkoff
facsimile. Looks like fret letter d and 8th symbol inserted at this point.
Ignored here as unintended, or at least undesirable.
M12r7s5 the "no strum" dot is extraneous, as no strum is indicated.

Tablature elements to be added by hand:
Slurs. If only a starting point is given, slur includes all the following
uninterrupted notes on the same string.
    M2 r4-5s1.
    M3 r2s3, r7s2, r10-11s3.
    M4 r5s1.
    M5 r4s1, r9-10s1.
    M7 r3-4s1, r5s1.
    M10 r3s1, r5-6s2.
    M11 r2-4s2.
    M13 r2-3s2, r5s1.
    M14 r4s1.
    M15 r3-4s1, r9s1.
    M16 r2-3s5.

Strums: Arrowheads ^ and v indicate strums. Open strings in strummed chords
were not shown in the tablature; add as many open strings as sound good.
It's worth re-drawing the ^ arrowhead right at the top of the associated
stem, just under the beam if a beam is present.

Explanation of symbols:
" = trill (starting on upper neighbor).
, = mordent (main note to lower neighbor and back to the main note).
  # = vibrato.
. = do not strum this string in the chord.
z = rest. Fill in to make a solid block.

Performance style: play straight 8ths in a courante. (The beat is a half note.)

Suggested simplification (if need be):

  |_"4______"4_|
  |__2_ to ____|
